An impending lease expiration, and increasing rents, required Bumble and bumble. (Bb.) to rethink their presence at their Meatpacking district location in 2017. The team considered several options, including relocating the entire House of Bumble operation elsewhere, or reducing their footprint at their existing location. The decision was made by the Bb. leadership team to stay in place, but consolidate the Bb. Salon and Bb. University operation onto one floor, from the existing three floors they previously occupied. The two operations had significantly different use requirements - the uniform station design then allows the space to be flexible as possible and for the two entities to operate side-by-side as needed. Custom mirrors with integrated lighting, Ketra tunable lighting, a Perch screen integrated within the retail millwork, carefully selected ancillary furniture, and a refreshed roof terrace completed the updated image. Working within a strict budget and schedule, the Salon operation moved floors and reopened in their new space without any loss of business days.
